m angle 1= m angle 12 ( vertically opposite angles) so mangle 12= 55 degrees hence option B is the correct answer.

Because the horiz. lines are all parallel, and the fourth line intersects all 3 of these parallel lines, I think it safe to say that the measure of angle 1 is the same as the measure of angle 9. From that point on I agree with dpasingh.
