A cylinder has the radius of 3 cm and a height of 8 cm. The surface area of the cylinder is _____ cm^2. answers: 24 pi 33 pi 48 pi 66 pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

surface area of cylinder = 2*pi*r*h

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

Do you know the formula for the surface area of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

@niksva , that formula is for the lateral area of a cylinder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No i don't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That helps a lot ^^^^^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@vampirediaries i think lateral surface area is asked in this ques

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My little mind is lost lol

OpenStudy (paki):

here we will use two steps.... Surface area of the top and bottom = A = 2πr2 Surface area of the side = A = 2πrh A = 2πr2 + 2πrh = 2πr(r + h) just put the values in these formulas and get your answer... here r=3 and height= 8....
