Billy was counting the number of wheels and bike seats at the playground. He saw tricycles and bicycles. He counted 79 wheels and 28 seats. How many bicycles did Billy see?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) well there are two wheels on a bike and three on a tricycle, right? :P then you can get the equations 2x + 3y = 79 (because total # of wheels = added # of wheels on each) x + y = 28 (because total # of seats = added # of total) use system of equations to solve, do you know how to do that? :)

the answer is 5

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):
