The temperature of an oven went from 320° to 280°. What was the percent decrease in temperature? A. 1.43% B. 12.5% C. 1.25% D. 14.3%

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

What is the change from 320 to 280 ?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

let's say 320 being the 100% of the temperature so the difference in temperature, would be the difference between the values so it went from 320 to 280, so the value difference would be 320-280 \(\large \begin{array}{ccllll} value&percentage \\\hline\\ 320&100\\ 320-280&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{320}{320-280}=\cfrac{100}{x}\)

OpenStudy (♥ashley♥):

I got it.Thanks!
