5v+6u =18 5v +7u =9

find ans of u and v

hero (hero):

Write it like this: 5v + 7u = 9 5v + 6u = 18 Then subtract the second equation from the first: (5v - 5v) + (7u - 6u) = (9 - 18)

hero (hero):

You should be able to find the value of u. After you obtain that value, substitute it in to one of the original equations to find v.

you can also solve for one variable by making the equation v=(-7u+9)/5 and then plug that equation in for V in the second equation given... its called substitution
