I cant figure out what adds to be 8 and mult to be 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\normalsize \color{black}{ \bf x^2-10x+8. }\) I don't think you can factor this, b/c 10 and 1, or 2 and 5 do not work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\normalsize \color{black}{ \bf (-10)^{2}-4(1)(8) }\) \(\normalsize \color{black}{ \bf 100-32 }\) \(\normalsize \color{black}{ \bf 68 }\) also, the discriminant is NOT a perfect square.
