Can someone go through this with me? Are the following figures similar? Rectangles ABCD and EFGH are shown. BC equals 40, CD equals 20, FG equals 30, GH equals 12. Angles ABC and EFG are marked congruent and angles BCD and FGH are marked congruent. No; the corresponding sides are not proportional. Yes; the corresponding sides are proportional. @Jack1 here ya go

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Take the ratio of corresponding sides. If they are equal then the figures are similar.

OpenStudy (jack1):

20:12 = 5:3 40:30 = 4:3 so nuh uh, not an equal ratio, so not similar

Oh that's what he meant lol whoops so basically all i needed to do was compare the opposites of the angles to determine! Thank you this makes much more sense to me now!

OpenStudy (jack1):

sweet, it was all anagram G tho, so make sure u medal the guy dude ;)
