\(S = 5\) your first guess \(x_n = 2\) plugin and simplify

if you try 2 it comes out to be 4 which is to low. 3 is the next higher whole number but it comes out to be 9, so its either 2.5 or 2.25. square both and which ever on is equal to 5 is your answer.
