hi im new... nice to meet you :)... my first question is about specific heat... if some hot water is still on the metal block when you transfer it into the water in the calorimeter, how would the experimental value of the heat have been affected?

Thermodynamics? Well c(specific heat of a substance) is a constant(changes for each substance though) which can be found in either a book or online.
