EASY MEDAL. Which statement is true regarding the circuit schematic below? A) The resistor is connected near the negative terminal of the battery. B) At the present time, the circuit is complete. C) This is a direct current circuit. D)This is an alternating current circuit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to include the schematic diagram.

SORRY! It didn't load!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ghuczek ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when in doubt pick C

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

i think B at t=0 the switch will be closed and the circuit will be complete

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

this is a transient type of circuit so u cant tell it's AC or DC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does transient circuit mean?

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

transient circuit means swichting circuit i.e circuits with switches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So your best guess is B? because I felt that was a likely answer also (otherwise it was c or d and I can't tell the difference) It obviously has a switch so I figured it would be B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay! I just didn't know what that was called! thanks!

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I disagree. It is most likely a direct current circuit, (answer C) based on the schematic drawing.

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

yes it could be DC circuit but more specifically its opt B because when t>0 the switch will remain open but at present i.e t=0 switch will be closed and the circuit will be complete
