An introductory paragraph that answers the question: Why should American citizens learn about this event? Two to three paragraphs of background information about the event that puts it into historical context. Two to three paragraphs that draw conclusions about why this event is important for new citizens to learn about. These paragraphs should include specific examples. A concluding paragraph that summarizes the main points of the paper. my topic is prohibition

Basic facts: Prohibition was the time between 1919 and 1933 when anything that had to do with alcohol was illegal what were the causes of your event?: what caused prohibition (the sale and manufacturing of alcohol being illegal) people induced by alcohol took situations and made them violent when they should have not been violent in the first place. People against prohibition call the people who were trying to take alcohol off the streets “joykillers” even kids in the saloons were drinking alcohol the adults offered it to them so the kids would get hooked at an early age. what were the effects of prohibition: Prohibition opened our eyes to the fact that you can’t take something away from society if a vast majority of the population wants it because one way or another they are going to get it legally or illegally the same situation is happening today even with a popular drug called cannabis it is becoming legal in a lot of states because the majority of the population want it legally or illegally they will get it I see something just like the prohibition coming today but just less violent. Why is this important for new citizens to understand?: They need to learn what prohibition was and understand it because prohibition was a very violent time in america there were multiple riots throughout the country and people demanding that alcohol be legal there were also many people smuggling alcohol through the borders and distribution of alcohol was at its very high when it was illegal some states did not even enforce the prohibition law because it got so out of control. what perspective do your primary sources bring to understanding the event?: The perspective my sources bring are that prohibition was a very dark age and we should not do anything like prohibition again it was a complete failure prohibition produces mafias gangs and a lot of people distributing alcohol illegally. do your primary sources help you make your arguement?: Yes “Everything you ever wanted to know aboutProhibition“
