How is this the best plan for African Americas? (Note: Consider how the plan you chose impacts African Americans. Does it grant and enforce their new rights? Does it take away rights from others?) please help me ill give a medal

@bek_love @hihi67

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm... I have no idea what you are trying to do. what is the plan? what time period are you learning about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lincoln's 10% Plan - 10% rebel loyalty oaths, new petition ofr admission into union - Gave away 40 acres to the southerners - Many in the north did not like this plan because they thought it was to lenient and congress feared a return of the "slaveocracy" - Lincoln was killed so it never went all the way Johnson's Plan- - Amnesty for oath, rich had to apply personally to Johnson himself for his pardon - He had to approve of new state constitutions that pledged alligiance to the Union - Gives land back to southern whites - North still thought it was too linient and south refused to ask pardon - Plan was rejected Congressional/ Radical Recon- -Emphasized the civil/voting rights of the freedman - 13th amendment (abolish slavery) - 14th amendment (gurantee citizenship to all born in the US) - 15th amendment (all can vote) - Johnson disliked because it overuled his plan - racists in north and south did not like it - adopted out of these three plans which would be the best for them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh... okay. which one do you think might have been the best one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you decide which plan was the best then you can figure out why it was the best plan.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll definitely help with whatever

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the Congressional / radical recon would be but i dont know how to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well start with one of the questions asked. Does it grant them new rights and if it did, did it enforce them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this supposed to be for a short answer or an essay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its supposed to be a short answer like 2/4 sentances

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so you could dedicate a sentence or two to answering each questions asked in the main question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Congressional/radical recon is the best plan for the african americans because the 13th amendment was to abolish slavery and the 14th amendment was to give rights to all born in the US also the 15th amendment saying all can vote. But for those not born in the US it is taking their rights away to be a citizen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this good? @bek_love

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's a really good start. your last sentence is unnecessary because they never had that right. they still don't. the 14th amendment was so important because prior to that slaves were not considered citizens.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem! glad I could help.
