Why is history open to ongoing and changing interpretations?

@zwinklypuff is right but to better explain it if you dont understand what shes saying, a revisionist is basically an entrepreneur which is a person or thing that revises current history, or thinks of ways to change things to make them better(its like overwriting you saved video game files). On the other hand a traditionalist is some one who follows tradition obviously and there normal culture. in other words their not out-of-the-box type of people. In conclusion, if revisionists like John Rockefeller, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, etc.., we would still be living in tents, using candles, and the idea of a smartphone would sound insane
