Where is the vertex of the parabola? y = x2 + 2x + 1 Above the x-axis Below the x-axis On the x-axis On the y-axis

hero (hero):

Three ways to find out: 1. Graph it: http://www.desmos.com 2. Put it in vertex form: y = a(x - h)^2 + k 3. Find the x coordinate of the vertex using x = (-b)/(2a), then insert that value of x into x^2 + 2x + 1 to find y.

hero (hero):

Remember, the vertex is the lowest point or highest point of the parabola.
