Nadia closes the nozzle of the funnel and fills it completely with a liquid. She then opens the nozzle. If the liquid drips at the rate of 10 cubic inches per minute, how long will it take for all the liquid to pass through the nozzle? (Use π = 3.14.)

The density of a fish tank is 0.4fish over feet cubed. There are 12 fish in the tank. What is the volume of the tank?

0.4 fish per cubic foot? that's the first time I've seen that particular unit :-)

$$0.4\frac{\text{ fish}}{\text { ft}^3} * x = 12\text{ fish}$$divide both sides by 0.4 fish/ft^3 and you get

$$x = \frac{12\text{ fish}}{0.4\frac{\text{ fish}}{\text{ ft}^3}} = \frac{12\cancel{\text{ fish}}}{0.4\frac{\cancel{\text{ fish}}}{\text{ ft}^3}} = 30\text{ ft}^3$$
