HEEEELPPPPP!!!! Which binomial is a factor of f(x) = x^4 - 33x^2 - 28x + 60? a.(x + 1) b.(x 2) c.(x 5) d.(x 6)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\Large\color{black}{ \bf factor~~~it. }\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I can do ti, but you got to be able to do. If you can't factor it, then divide by each of the options, and the option with which you get no remainder is the answer.

this is from unit 1 of my schooling... i just am making up an old assignment.. just tell me answer please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@girlnotonfire when you arent busy...help me out??

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

tell me the options, last three choices are, \(\Large\color{black}{ \bf x^2,~x^5,~x^6 }\) correct ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no x-2 x-5 x-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Go to wolframalpha.com and type: factor x^4 - 33x^2 - 28x + 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only one of your answer choices is a factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thanks for that message @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slow by hand way would require testing each one using synthetic division.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @BangkokGarrett

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem
