you can work for 4 hours on Saturday and 8 hours Sunday. you also receive a $50 bonus you earn $164 how much did you earn per hour?

164 - 50 = $114
You earned $114 in 12 hours.
114 divided by 12

Set it up. You don't know how much money per hour you make. So x is the amount per hour.

4 hours and 8 hours you worked for. So 12x is how much you earned for the amount of hours you worked. You also had a $50 bonus. So you have to add this amount to how much you get from working the 12 hours you did.

12x + 50 = 164

And you solve from here. Minus 50 from both sides. Divide by 12 on both sides.

I only post this because I was writing it anyways, and also it will hopefully help you late in to set up the problem. Instead of giving you vague instructions. Unless you're lazy and don't want to solve it or don't want to learn how.
