The lateral area of a cone is 574pi cm2. The radius is 29 cm. What is the slant height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you would just plug the lateral area and the radius into the equation for the lateral area of a cone. This equation is S= πrl. This means the lateral surface area= pie*radius*slant height. Just plug in the numbers you are given and solve for the slant height.

I tried that my choices are 9.9cm, 6.3, 19.8, and 12.6 @sydney_nease

it would be 19.8 because your equation would be 574pie=pie29L you can remove the pie on both sides because the balance out your new equation is 574=29L now you divide 574 by 29 and you get 19.8
