You have the numbers 1–24 written on slips of paper. If you choose one slip at random, what is the probability that you will NOT select a number divisible by 3? 3/8 1/3 5/8 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

count the number of numbers that are not divisible by 3 then divide the result by 24

@bcr1997; Please! Our goal here is to help you learn to solve problems on your own, not to supply you with answers. "Will give medal" sounds like bribery. If necessary, write out all 24 of the numbers 1 through 24. Then circle the ones that are not divisible by 3. for example, 2 and 3 are NOT divisible by 3, but 3 is divisible by 3; 4 and 5 are not, and so on. Count how many numbers you have circled. Then divide that count by 24. That's "the probability of drawing a number not divisible by 3."
