OpenStudy (yttrium):

Admins, why do I feel that almost everyday, the site is getting boring and there are too little questions are put in every subject. And when I put my own questions, they will think it's my assignment and I'm just using them to answer it. Though I know the answer already.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

I don't think too little questions are being put up. In fact I see a significant increase especially in math section. Site is boring? Well that depends on individual experience. I have been here for more than 3 years and I still enjoy the way it now. About the last part, you can mention in your question itself that u know the answer already to avoid confusion later.

mathslover (mathslover):

First of all, I would say, I am confused for What you mean here by "boring" ? What would you expect from OS or from the users to make it like it was earlier ? Yttrium, I appreciate your feedback about your experience on OpenStudy. At some point, your's experience may be true, like there is some time when there are not much users hanging here to get help, the time zone matters though, we have users of many time zones. As Aravind mentioned, it depends on the individual. We are trying at our level best to maintain the level of OpenStudy and hopefully, OpenStudy is progressing at a good rate. There may be some subjects which are inactive, so, the OS Team is making its best effort on it. I would love to first hear your's points on my above two questions and will be best to discuss it then.

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Yeah. Timezone is really a big factor. And it actually MATTERS A LOT. Whenever, I'm going to this site, yeah I always see questions. But the question are very few to answer and most of it were already answered. What I want or shall I say hope is that for this site to have an everyday questions that is basic, somewhat basic, not-so-tricky, tricky, very tricky, and very difficult questions. So that when people willing to help here are waiting for their friends to post their questions, they can entertain themselves by answering those questions. Shall I say, I want some likeness of this site to brilliant.org. So that it may not be boring, for me, or for some. When no one is putting their questions. :) I hope you get my point and thanks for entertaining it. :) I actually also want "improvements" to the sites I am visiting. :)

OpenStudy (aravindg):

I could suggest an alternative. For example if you find that questions in Math section are already answered then move to a different group. No other group is as active as math and I assure you that you find a lot of unanswered questions. Take a look at them. More the subjects we provide effective help, more the number of users that will join us and site can move to a new dimension.

mathslover (mathslover):

Thanks for explaining your point @Yttrium - I think, I got your point now. I agree that there are not much "tricky" questions (unanswered) at some particular time, but, at the same time, other groups have much tricky questions. I would love to hear, what kind of features do you want to be added on OS (either by comparison with brilliant or your own ideas for the site) ?

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Can I ask for "OpenStudy" questions for any kind of users? For example, when we visit the site, though there are no new questions, at least the site itself provided a set or sets of questions for those people who don't just love to ask help from others but to help themselves too by answering those questions, supposedly provided by you, the mods or admins, if it is just okay with you. :) And as I said, the group is getting more boring when it is inactive, so what shall need to do? Activate it! I hope my suggestion will help. :)

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

I kinda agree with @Yttrium I mean today I called over 25 people to come and help me work out a problem and still no one would help me I mean I can call admins ,Mods, and Ambassadors but they would all either not come when I mention or they would come and then just like look at the question and just leave and then I have to wait til a good friend gets on and then I have to mention him and then he is the only on who will help me. I feel like this is becoming a daily problem where to where people will not help me on practically any question I ask.

mathslover (mathslover):

I appreciate your idea Yttrium. The idea will have to be discussed among the community. Thanks for showing your concern on it.

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

I mean its not like I don't help people in return I mean you can look at my profile I have answered more question then I have asked for help with but I am struggling to get people to help me anymore it is just getting to where this site is getting to the point of where I can't get any answers. Like on a question I asked for help on with math I was hoping someone would help me with it but just someone showed up and like kinda helped me through one step and then he just left for me to figure out a equation I had no idea how to work out (equations are not my strong point) and then I was left to guess on the question only to get it wrong. I think that the Admins, the Moderators, and the Ambassadors should become more involved with the actually openstudy process I mean I call on mods all the time but all they ever do is just show up look at the problem and then they just leave they rarely and hardly ever actually help me me with a question that I need help with. Just my Opinion

mathslover (mathslover):

@Warriorz13 - Sorry to hear that. We're really working on this problem and we hope, an efficient solution will soon come out and will be implemented soon.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

@Warriorz13 Keep in mind the fact that moderators have a difficult task of handling the trolls and inappropriate content that might pop up any second along with answering questions. We might need to go and check this even when we are in a particular question. Another thing I need to remind you is that not all the the users shown online are actually active. Some can be busy with their own work. Someone looks at your question and leaves? In that case you could assume that the person cannot help in that particular question. I really support the idea of a "away from keyboard" button due to this.

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

I would agree to the AFK BUTTON

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@Warriorz13 You will have to talk to a Admin for that

OpenStudy (preetha):

Ok, too many questions or not enough questions? Boring?????

mathslover (mathslover):

Preetha, may be Yttrium meant to say : too many questions but not that challenging or tricky!

OpenStudy (yttrium):

Not enough questions is what I am telling.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Boring OH MY OpenStudy Will never be boring never in A Million years

OpenStudy (yttrium):

and for @Warriorz13 is not enough reply to his questions

OpenStudy (aravindg):

The irony! One user talks about not enough questions for him to answer. Another says none of his questions are getting answered even if he tags many users including mods and ambassadors.

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

LOL IKR

OpenStudy (yttrium):

that is not an irony. that is different cases.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm always here to help! Just tag me in your questions, and I'll do my best to explain. :)
