How are characterization and setting the same and different?

Characterization is the process by which the writer reveals the personality of a character.
Setting is the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place.

characterization is where the writer characterizes the person in the story, the character so basically gives them a personality while setting is the area in which the story takes place.
I'd say they're the same because they both have character in them- like you know how some people say 'wow this piece of furniture has character' so it's the same with the setting and characterization
