Fan and Medal Solve. 8x = 4x – 32 A. –4 B. –8 C. 8 D. 4

The answer is B. Would you like to know how to find the solution to the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. When solving an equation, you want to isolate the "x" variable on one side, and the constant on the other side. Does this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. There are a couple of ways to solve this equation, but I'm gonna show you the easiest way there is. So what were going to do is: 8x = 4x - 32 Subtract 4x from "both" sides of the equation. This gives us: 4x = -32. Now, we need to divide the 4 in 4x by the -32. (or vice versa, however you like to say it.) 4 / -32 OR (-32 / 4) = -8. Does this make sense? :)

I see now thank you so much ^.^

Your welcome! :) Would you like me to come up with another one for us to do, or do you think you have it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have it ^^
