ok.... I'd plot the 3 points for g(x).... and then draw a line through them... and see it the line and circle intersect... use this site https://www.desmos.com/calculator it will graph the circle enter x^2 + y^2 = 49 for the points it use (-1, -9.2) (0, 9) and (1, -8.8) you may have to zoom out a bit to see the points.... hope it helps...
