OpenStudy (nickymail48):

7y+14? so how do i know if i subract or add

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3y and 4y are both positive so you add them which gives you 7y, then 5 and 9 are negatives but because of the plus sign before the 4y you would add them to make -14. the answer would be 7y - 14
