slope

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

what exactly do you need to know about slope? You know there is a lot of math course on higher and lower levels related to this word.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how to do it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\Huge\color{blue}{ \bf \frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2} }\) is the formula. Lets say you have 2 points, for example: (3,2) and (4 ,-1) you would plug in the points into the formula, TO FIND SLOPE, \(\Huge\color{blue}{ \bf \frac{(2)-(-1)}{(3)-(4)} }\) then you need to simplify the formula, \(\Huge\color{blue}{ \bf \frac{2-(-1)}{3-4} }\) \(\Huge\color{blue}{ \bf \frac{2+1}{3-4} }\) \(\Huge\color{blue}{ \bf \frac{3}{1} }\) So the slope is 3.
