What is the greatest common factor of 35x^6 and 7x^2
I really don't know how to do this... like i know GCF but not with variables...
its easy with variables x^2 and x^6 - the greatest common factor is x^2
Ok, so I know that my final answer wil have x^2 in it... and since in GCF of 35 and 7 is 7 would it be 7x^2???
right
Thanks! Can I ask you a couple more just to make sure i'm correct?? :)
ok
What is the greatest common factor of 36x^3 and 8x? Ok so i'm going to have x^3 since we only have x^3 and since the greatest common factor of 36 and 8 is 4 then would it be 4x^3???
Wait would it be 4x instead??? Y
Since x is a factor of x^3??
no not x^3 x^3 will not divide into x x is the GCF of x and x^2
right 4x
:)) Yeah, I think I got it! Thank you for all of your help!
its the greatest common FACTOR - x^3 is not a factor of x, but x is a factor of x^3
yw
Oh thats what I ment to say, sorry! :)
Um I know I said I thought I got it but this one is really confusing me...... What is the greatest common factor of 19x^7 and 3x^5? x^5 x^7 3x^5 3x^7 Ok so I did what you said, and since 5 and 7 are both prime we put one.... and 19 and 3 are prime as well........ but the answers don't match @cwrw238
