Mount Fuji, the active volcano in Honshu, Japan, is 3776 m high and has a slope of approximately 30 degrees. Mount Etna, in Sicily, is 3350 m high and approximately 50 km across the base. If you assume they both can be approximated by cones, which volcano is larger? Show your work.

How do find the volume of Mount Fuji since you only know the slope and the height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you know it it bigger by the numbers in size volume you would have to calculate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it looks like Mount Etna has smaller numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But by the slope of it the volume goes up higher. Like a cup that is 10 ft high and 3 feet around is smaller than a cup that is 8ft high and 5ft around
