solve 3sin^2(θ) - 4sin(θ) - 4 = 0?

Two questions: http://imgur.com/SQsaRmO.jpg Help would be much appreciated! If I could get the steps or tips on how to,, it would be more than enough! Thanks! :-)

OpenStudy (loser66):

treat sin theta as t, so you have 3t^2 -4t -4=0, solve for t, then plug back to get theta

OpenStudy (loser66):

the same for the second part, just manipulate a little bit on cos (2 theta) = 1-2sin^2 (theta),

@Loser66 - I am trying to figure out how to do that.. Could you please help? I'm trying to factor but I can't figure it out. :(

OpenStudy (loser66):

use quadratic formula, not factor
