evaluate the logarith: log4 1/64

OpenStudy (linn99123):

this simply means that 4 to what power is equal to 1/64, which can be rewritten as: 4^x = 1/64 and solve for x Now figure out what power of 4 is equal to 64 (it is 3, or 4 cubed) To make it equal to 1/64 instead of 64 now, simply make the exponent negative, so 4^-3 your answer is -3
