how do body systems work together when a person is singing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The vocal cords are at the top of the trachea - the tube leading to our lungs. We speak by blowing air from the lungs across the vocal cords. The vocal cords vibrate to make different sounds. The harder you blow air past the vocal cords, the louder the sound. That's why people sometimes take a deep breath before shouting.

will that work.
