For your B day party, you make a map to your house on a 3 inch wide by 5 inch long index card. What will the perimeter of your map be if you use a copier that enlarges it by 8??

Well I mean I think it's the same as multiplying both sides of the ratio (3 inches by 5 inches).

OpenStudy (mysangels):

wouldn't it be 3x5x8?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Original perimeter is 2(3) + 2(5). If the enlargement factor is 8, then we have to multiply each 3 and 5 by 8: 24 and 40. Then the new perimeter is 2(24) + 2(40).

Ok so 128 since 80+48=128????
