All I want is for someone to help me with my question. I'm not asking for a direct answer. When i do tag someone, they never come. It gets me frustrated, and to be honest i don't want to hear "well this website is free." Well duh! I know that, but I come here for help and i am always very thankful for any help and I know all i can do and say is thank you, medal the person, and fan them. I just really, personally believe that people who are able to help should not always be in the chat rooms but actually helping the people that want to learn and want to be helped.
1. reading this makes the voice in my head feel like its having a seizure xD 2. haven't you already posted this before? ;) 3. I know what you mean bro, it wasn't that long ago that I would spend entire weekends to get just 3 problems answered cuz no one would look for hours there are a few ways to fix that... -tag people that you know can help, yeah there a plenty of people that have 99s but some like to specialize in just calculus questions or biology questions etc. so try to find one that prefers to help in the topic you're in to get better and faster help :) -another thing I noticed is that the moment my name turned a shade of green, I didn't have the problem as much -also, time zone matters >.> a lot of people are in the United States, I am too, and I could see that you were asking questions like 2 in the morning my time o.o that might be a factor xD -ASKING A QUESTION IN ALL CAPS GIVES THE IMPRESSION OF SHOUTING lel ;) just post your actual question without any fluff, so helpers can glance and see if that is a topic they can help on. rather than having to look into your question to see, giving you a false sense of hope :P 4. chats are a break for people to interact with each other and talk about stuff other than homework, but most of the time the people that are willing to help on questions aren't in chat and are hoping around.

LOL cx if you have a question in english or writing you can tag me and ill help :P
I think, we shall make a list of users corresponding to their expertise in the topics ! Like Hartnn, mathmale, ganeshie8 , amistre68 etc. are good in almost all the topics. I particularly like to do problems of pre-calculus , trigonometry etc. Also, Thomaster's idea for making subject wise smart scores can be efficient in such cases.
I would bet that not everyone you are tagging is even on. I log in and get tags from when I was off. Not just notifications for things I replied to, but tags to new questions that were opened while I was asleep. When I am on, people tag me to questions I can't help with. They also tag me while I am already helping someone else. In those cases, I am not going to run over to another question. There are limitations to what people can do. Yes, chat is a mixed bag. It brings a lot of people to OpenStudy. It also gets abused a lot. However, trying to blame people in chat for not answering things is a bit silly. There is no law that says people on OpenStudy must ask or answer so many questions a day or lose their account. Could the user experience on OpenStudy be better? Yes! That is part of why we recruit Ambassadors. We try to train them up and have them go out and improve the user experience as well as promote others into doing so!
It is a compliment to be tagged, asked for help, but sometimes one is not on or only going to be on briefly or tied up with another person's question. Finally, requests for multiple answers or analysis of long questions can lead to having the tag ignored.
I think it should be where you can only be tagged in subjects that you can actually help in. Like people keep tagging me in math, and then I feel bad because I can't help them. The only subject I can actually help in is writing and art history and ela.
If you need any help just tag me I'm good in just about everything.
