In the United States, it is possible for someone to give a gift of up to how much money per year to another person without that money being taxed?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

yes, it is possible. I believe the money allowed without paying a gift tax is $14,000 per year. Now thats for single people. For married people, it is doubled to $28,000
