Robert claims that his dog can do single-digit multiplication. He shows the dog 8 cards with simple multiplication problems that are either correct or incorrect. The dog correctly identifies the correctness of the card 5 times out of 8. If the dog were simply guessing, how many would the dog be expected to get correct? 5 8 13 4

@amistre64 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the average of guessing between right and wrong is just 1 out of 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so guessing is expected to get half right by chance alone

OpenStudy (amistre64):

might be able to apply a binomial distribution if anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so he would expect to get 4 right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats my assumption yes

Ok, thanks!
