Molecules are groups of atoms linked together to form some sort of gas, liquid or solid substance. Examples: O2=oxygen gas, with two atoms of oxygen. H2O=water, liquid comprised of two atoms of hydrogen linked to an atom of oxygen. NaCl=table salt, or sodium chloride, comprised of an atom of sodium bonded with an atom of chlorine.
