OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

What is underlined?

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Oh nvm.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

An independent clause is one that can stand by itself and still be a sentence, and a subordinate clause cannot be a correct sentence. So, "I wrote the number on the notepad". Does that sound like it could be a sentence to you, or not?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

is that what is underlined ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @texaschic101

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

BTW -- post these kinds of question in the English section next time :) You're welcome!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
