Two metal blocks that have slightly different temperatures are placed next to one another. After five minutes, they both have lower but equal temperatures. According to the law of conservation of energy, what most likely happened?

mathslover (mathslover):

Let us suppose that there are two metal blocks - A and B A has higher temperature than B (initially) So, the energy got transferred from A to B ( this process of transferring energy from warmer block to cooler block continues until both the blocks get equal energy / temp.)
