A hypothesis is an educated prediction of the outcome of an experiment. For example, let's say your experiment is to see how grease reacts with water. Your HYPOTHESIS would be your educated guess on how the grease will react. If you know that grease is not water soluble, your hypothesis would be something like, "I believe that the grease will float to the top of the water due to the fact that it cannot be dissolved in water as other substances can." Make sense? :)
