A rocket blast off and moves away from the earth. How is the rocket affected by the earth's gravitational pull as it gets further away? A. The pull of gravity on the rocket remains constant. B. The pull of gravity on the rocket increases. C. The pull of gravity on the rocket decreases. D. The pull of gravity on the rocket reverses.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I gave you the formula for the force due to gravity in an earlier question. You will recall that it is \[F= \frac{GMm }{ r ^{2} }\] In you previous question all these factors were constant. In this question at least ONE of the m changes, (and strictly speaking 2 of them change as the rocket burns fuel on its journey) Both those factors act to affect the force in the same way
