A publisher estimates their costs of publishing a book is from $780,000 to $1,040,000. So far, they have spent $624,000. Which compound inequality correctly expresses how much more the publisher can spend?

OpenStudy (chris911):

The smallest amount they would spend would be $156,000, and the largest amount $416,000, so x has to be in between these two numbers (or equal to either). So answer 156,000 ≤ x ≤ 416,000 makes the most sense.
