Could someone help me with a project that I've been working on? I'm having a lot of trouble.
so far I have x=red sauce y=scorchin sauce 1.5x+4y<=1050 (x=210) 4x+8x<=1200 (x=300) 5x+4y<=1050 (y=300) 4x+8y<=1200 (y=131.25)
hmmmm... ummm... i'll try so: a = peppers b = chillis x = red sause y = scorchin x = 5a + 4b y = 4a + 8b
I'm confused once again :/
y max = 1200/8 = 150 at 150y = 150*4a + 150*8b = 600a used and 1200b used x max = 1050/5 = 210 at 210x = 210*5a + 210 *4b = 1050a + 840b
does that make sense so far ? @veeveeniko
i think so, i am still a bit unsure but it makes more sense than before.
so with each of those examples (x max and y max) we can only make those amounts of each, and we have left overs of the other type of pepper so what ratio will allow us to use all of the ingredients we have, with no leftovers, and therefore maximum sauce?
I'm sorry I am unable to find the ratio, can you explain the process on finding it? It's hard since I don't have a teacher since i'm home schooled
all good, np hey the ingredients are the limiting factor, so 1050 green : 1200 red =7:8 ratio of a to b so our equation needs to be ___x + ___ y = 7a + 8b or some similar ratio... eg 14a + 16b...21a + 24b ...etc so find the lowest multiples of x and y that will yeild the 7 to 8 ratio of total ingredients
9.57143 x+13.1429 y = roughly a 7: 8 ratio ... i think
but how did you get that? I apologize again for my incompetence
with difficulty and simultaneous equations
battery baout to die, ill be back if i drop out
Ahh sorry for making you help me, i'm really grateful though.
___x + ___ y = 7a + 8b and x = 5a + 4b y = 4a + 8b so x(5a + 4b)+ y(4a + 8b) = a (5 x+4 y)+b (4 x+8 y) and a (5 x+4 y)+b (4 x+8 y) =
sorry, laptop battery died and i couldnt find the cord last night
