5x-20 divided by 5x+30? I need to simplify and list excluded values.Thank you in advance!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor out the common factors from the numerator and denominator. For example, common factor of 4x + 8 is 4 and so it can be written as 4(x + 2). Does this help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I know which common factor pair to use? A few I got for this one is:(1,20),(2,10) and (4,5) for the 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the number which is able to divide both the numbers. For example, in 4x + 8, 4 is able to divide both 4 and 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So,I could divide both sides by 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that is correct. Good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide the numerator and denominator both by 5
