Please help :) A cylinder has a diameter of 10 inches and a height four times its radius. What is its volume? f 40,000π cu in. g 4,000π cu in. h 500π cu in. j 2,000π cu in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the diameter is 10, the radius is 5... so if the height is 4*r, what is the height? the formula for the volume is V=(area of base) * h the area of the base is \[A=\pi r^{2}\] so \[V=\pi r^{2}h\]

Yes and i got 1570 but thats not an answer choice... @mtbender74

1 sec...let me work it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's because the answer wants pi left alone...calculate the \[r^{2}h\] part and put pi on the end... :)

Oh 500 pie thanks :) @mtbender74

no problem :)
