THe first one is a great problem... To start with, realize that "no more than" in inequality speak means less than or equal to...so that's the sign to look for in the answer Next, the area of a triangle is (1/2)bh where b is the base and h is the height they told us that the height is 4 more than twice b...or... h=2b+4 Plugging this into the area formula (and using x instead of b) we have (1/2)(x)(2x+4) = x(x+2)...find the right inequality sign, and you've got it. :)

Since it's greater than or equal to, it'd have to be between A or D. But it can't be A, it has to be D. I think. And D is 1/2x(x+4). Okay, I think I get it now.

it's actually less than or equal to...no *more* than

i will give you no more than $50...means i will give you less than or equal to $50

For the second one, ignore the negative signs, and simplify the radicals...then put the i in there... \[\sqrt{108} - \sqrt{3} = \sqrt{3*36} - \sqrt{3} = 6\sqrt{3} - \sqrt{3} \]...

Omg, I totally read that wrong, haha. This time, I really do understand it, lol.

english can be tricky...that's why i like math :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Crap, my assignment submitted itself because I took too long on it. Thanks for your help though, really. You're teaching me more than my online teachers are. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha. English isn't usually tricky for me, I'm a writer! Math is tricky, that's why I hate math. :p lol.

my wife says the same thing :)
