OpenStudy (tester97):

Find the period, range, and amplitude of the cosine function.

OpenStudy (tester97):

\[y=\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }\cos \frac{ t }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (primeralph):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (tester97):

Honestly i dont know because my teacher doesnt teach me how to do this

OpenStudy (primeralph):

Amplitude is the maximum value the cosine can take. Cosine has a max of 1, but since there's a 3/2, the max will be 3/2 * 1 = 3/2. So that's the amplitude.

OpenStudy (primeralph):

For the period, get the coefficient of t, call it a. Find 2 * pi/a. That's the period.

OpenStudy (tester97):

but what is "a"?

OpenStudy (primeralph):

The coefficient of t in the cosine.

OpenStudy (tester97):

Tbh i have no idea what you are talking about can you explain further?

OpenStudy (primeralph):

What's the coefficient of t in the cosine?
