Find the rectangular coordinates of the point with the polar coordinates (1,1/2pi) Please explain the steps!

OpenStudy (jack1):

is that half pi or 1 / 2pi ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 1 and half pi, its all together @Jack1 And quite frankly I'm not sure I'm lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah r =1 and theta = Pi/2 as u know in rectangular co-ordinates, x= rcos(theta) and y= rsin(theta)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So basically I would substitute those values (r and theta) into the x and y and that would give me the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got for x=0.49924 y=0.999624 Is is this right? @niksva
