I have questions: *A radioactive source emits alpha and gamma radiation. Explain how it may be shown that the source does not emit beta radiation using 1.the absorption properties of radiation, 2.the effects of magnetic field on radiation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gamma is very penetrating and alpha barely penetrates anything, while betas are in between a magnetic field will make negative particles (betas) turn opposite from positive (alpha) and gammas not turn at all.

Glad this was helpful.
