OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need a article and i dont know what to write about.

OpenStudy (zale101):

what's the topic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is what it says: You will choose or be assigned (at the direction of your teacher) one news article about current events happening in a region of the former Byzantine Empire. You will read this article and compose a summary the article into a bulleted list in your social studies journal. Include the following information: Who is the article about? What event is the article about? When did the event take place? When was the article published? Where did the event take place? Why did you choose this article?

OpenStudy (zale101):

Look for an article that consists of current events happening in a region of the former Byzantine Empire. Does the school offer you some database websites? Like ebsoco or the Ancient & Medieval History Online?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (zale101):

try asking your teacher, "where can I find a current event article?" i use this most of the times: http://www.ebscohost.com/public/subjects/category/news-current-events

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i went to it then what do i go to next

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is an example they give me: Exxon Spill Case May Get Closure The Washington Post Sunday, February 24, 2008 The article is about a federal case against Exxon after the Valdez oil spill reaching the supreme court. The original verdict of a $5 billion payment for punitive damages was in 1994, but it made it to the Supreme Court in February of 2008. The spill was in Alaska and that is where the first federal verdict was handed down. I chose this article because I thought it was interesting to see how the appeal process works. This case has been in court for 14 years

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks like you're heading for a fail on this. The assignment says to look in the region that was once the Byzantine Empire. They were all over the eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea at there peak. So get on BBC and pick an article about something happening in Turkey, Greece, Israel, Syria, Egypt, Crimea, Italy or any of the other 8 or so nations that were once part of the Empire. Read the article. Answer the questions about the article. This one ain't hard. But if your write about Lincoln, you'll get an F
