I have been stuck on this question for a while and would appreciate help.
A ball is thrown upward from the top of a building. The function below shows the height of the ball above the ground, f(t), in feet, at different times (t) in seconds:
f(t) = -16t2 + 34t + 80
The average rate of change of f(x) from x = 5 to x = 7 is _____.

Ok first of all did you mean the average rate of change of f(t) from t = 5 to t = 7?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok how do you find the slope between two points?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I set it up as f(7) - f(5)/7 - 5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That's correct just plug in f(7) and f(5), simplify, and u'll get ur answer

I got
-446 - 150/2 = -521
That's obviously wrong I believe
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
