Using a 0.5g/L of a dye stock solution, how much is required to make 25 ml of a 8 ug/mL solution? I can't remember what to use was it c1v1=c2v2?

yes, the formula is correct. Just plug everything and solve for the volume. You have to convert the concentration to the same unit, recall that 1ug = 1 x 10^-6 gram
